Costa Ballena Ocean Golf Club
Designed by Jose Maria Olazabal and Integral Golf Design, Costa Ballena Ocean Golf Club is located on a large residential development on the Costa de la Luz. Just south of the Donanna National Park, the course was laid on flat farmland and is easy to walk. Costa Ballena offers 27 championship holes which golfers can play in 3 combinations. In addition, there is also a 9 hole Par 3 executive course that has hosted the National Par 3 Championships.
Golf El Rompido
Surrounded by the ‘Paraje Natural Protegido’, Golf El Rompido offers 36-holes of top quality, value for money, golf. Located on the western side of Andalusia, it blends in with the natural surroundings to provide players with an authentic experience. The two 18-hole courses, known as the North course and the South course, are routed through the wetlands and offer spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean. Encircled by pine and orange groves, the variety offered by both courses allows golfers of all abilities to enjoy El Rompido.
Islantilla Golf Resort
Opened in 1992, Islantilla Golf Resort is situated on the coast between the Portuguese border and Huelva. Part of a resort that includes a 204-bed luxury hotel, the 27-hole course was designed by Enrique Canales and Luis Recasens to offer different levels of difficulty. Organised into three loops of 9 holes, the course can be played in any combination to suit a player’s strengths. The only golf course in the province of Huelva to hold a round of the European Tour, Islantilla was also listed as one of the best golf courses in Europe by Golf Digest magazine.
Montecastillo Resort
One of the most popular golf courses in the world, Montecastillo Resort is located on a 400-acre property in the outskirts of Jerez de la Frontera. Designed by Jack Nicklaus, the 72-par golf course has a superb international reputation, hosting the Volvo Masters for 5 consecutive years and the Peugeot Tour for 3 years. Routed over undulating terrain, the course is long and demanding, resulting in most opting to use a golf buggy. Offering views of a 19th-century castle and the Jerez Grand Prix, this course is a must-visit on your golfing holiday.
Real Club de Golf de Sevilla
Stretching 6,529 metres in length, the Real Club de Golf de Sevilla is a par-72 course which covers an area of 61 hectares. Designed by Jose Olazabal, the course opened in 1991, and quickly developed global recognition, hosting the World Golf Championships in 2004. Featuring 10,000 trees, 90 bunkers and 9 lakes, the course includes a multitude of hazards for golfers to overcome. Largely flat and open, the course encourages quick, short play.
