With the par for the course set at 73, Maspalomas was designed by Mackenzie Ross and features long, broad fairways with a flat terrain.Whilst water only threatens play on two holes, it is the ever-changing sea breeze that is the true hazard.
Lopesan Meloneras Golf
With a par of 71, Meloneras is an 18-hole golf course located right next to the sea. The course offers outstanding views as it is situated between the vast Maspalomas Dunes nature reservation and Pasito Blanco yacht harbour, with glimpses of the island’s mountains in the distance. Covering around 520,000 square metres, the course was designed by Ron Kirby. Striking a balance between difficulty and layout, players will enjoy Meloneras, whilst also being challenged by the course. Having an envious climate, golfers can play this course all year long.
Real Club de Golf de Las Palmas
The oldest club in Spain, Real Club de Golf de Las Palmas was founded in 1891 and designed by the British architect Mackenzie Ross. Incorporating the essence of the island into its layout, the club is situated on the edge of the Caldera Bandama, an ancient volcanic crater which is now a protected area. The par 71 course has astounding views of both the summit and the sea, making the most of its brilliant location. With an undulating terrain and lush tropical vegetation, Real Club de Golf de Las Palmas is the perfect way for golfers to appreciate Gran Canaria’s volcanic history.
